When we first became aware of the fact that Teachers of the Visually Impaired (TVI’s) receive very limited training in assistive technology during their college education, we were stunned. These teachers have an already heavy workload, including supporting growing numbers of students, preparing lesson plans and traveling between campuses. Yet, they may also be required to learn highly technical applications such as Jaws (Job Access with Speech) and Microsoft Windows, which can be particularly challenging for those who are not familiar with keyboard-intensive software. It is a sad reality that blind and low vision individuals require a higher level of technical knowledge and proficiency in assistive technology to succeed in their personal and professional lives. This is where the excitement begins! Let us help you become a pro today ! Our team of technologists can provide hands-on, high-level training to your educators, covering popular application combinations such as Jaws and Microsoft Word or Jaws and PowerPoint. Let us help you design a solution that meets your unique needs and provides your educators with the training and support they need to successfully support their visually impaired students.
